Terms & Conditions

Completion of Forms

All required forms must be completed, signed and returned to RECESS ahead of participation in the first class.

Payment Terms

A credit card must be provided as a term of enrollment. Payment for the term must be received in full before commencement of the first class. Payment can be made via check, cash, Venmo or credit card (processing fees apply). The card will be charged if any other payment method is not provided in a timely manner.

Group Formations

RECESS will take into consideration grouping requests, but these cannot be guaranteed and will be based on class and instructor availability.

There will be a maximum of five participants per group unless otherwise stated on class materials.

Late starts: in the event of a participant wishing to join after the start of the Term, RECESS will accommodate this request if there is a space available in a suitable group for the desired activity. If this is not possible the participant will join the waitlist for the following Term.

Completion of Sessions

Enrollment for the Term includes weekly classes on a predetermined schedule (days and times), which is agreed upon at the time of enrollment. It is understood that if a scheduled class is missed then it is forfeit. In the case of long-term illness or injury, with written notice to RECESS, enrollment can be put on hold for the current Term and resumed the following Term. If a class is canceled by RECESS, then the class will be made up at a mutually appropriate time or credit provided for that class.

Class cancellation

On enrollment, you are committing to the class day and time for the duration of the Term. If you miss a class that class is forfeit. However, if you are able to provide notice of cancellation (12 hours), we will endeavor to provide an alternate day and time to make up that class. If a make-up class is not feasible, a class credit will be offered.

Changing Date/Time/Group

We understand that occasionally families may need to change their agreed upon scheduled class for the Term. RECESS will do its best to accommodate these requests. Please keep in mind that we cannot guarantee the new dates and times will align with the participants current instructor/group members.

Drop off and pick up Policy

It is the responsibility of the family to drop their child off at RECESS no less than 5 minutes before the start of the class/session and pick them up no later than 5 minutes after the end of the class.

If participants are traveling with friends, independently or with a person other than their parent/guardian, RECESS must be notified before the class in order to leave with this person/leave unaccompanied.

Disclosure of Medical History

To ensure the health and safety of the participants, RECESS encourages past and present medical conditions, injuries and medications to be disclosed. This supports us to maintain participant wellbeing during classes and respond appropriately in the event of an emergency. Please ensure any allergies are noted on the Enrollment form and emergency medications are carried at all times.

Health & Wellness of Participants

To help prevent the spread of flu and other communicable diseases all equipment is routinely sanitized. We would ask families to protect the health of their child and other participants by keeping their child at home if they are exhibiting COVID-19 or flu-like symptoms or are clearly unwell (too unwell to attend school).

In the event of a future pandemic resulting in mandatory stay at home orders, classes will be continued virtually to continue to form social bonds and creative outlets.

Use of images for social media

Recess may take photos and or videos of classes or sessions and use the footage for social media marketing purposes. By enrolling in a Recess program you give permission for these images to be used for this purpose. If you do not wish for images to be used, you must notify Recess via email at info@recessues.com.
